What do you do when your accompanist falls ill right before the performance? You tell the students that it is time to adapt, adjust, and overcome! That is exactly what Mrs. Crockett did last night. Junior high and high school choirs performed songs from Hamilton, Wicked, and other beautiful songs last night This concert was bittersweet as the music was beautiful, but it marks the end of Mrs. Crockett's time at Riverside. She is a remarkable individual who is immensely talented. We wish her well in her new endeavor and are thankful for her contributions to Riverside.

All talent show acts have auditioned and received this note to bring home. Thank you! Looking forward to the show next week. :)

The second graders are having fun learning about shapes!

Yesterday, Mrs. Suman's Media Arts classes took a field trip to Downtown Bellefontaine to film the Photography & Digital Image Editing classes' Movie Project. The classes have been working on the project from the idea, to writing, to film, and then will edit it. Then they will have a premiere of the movie.

Riverside Art students did very well at the Logan County Art and Music Festival that was held on April 11th at the Holland Theater. Gillian Knight won Best Picture For 9-12 Art. The picture was a drawing of a sculpture that she did in white charcoal. Gillian is one of the best drawers I have had. Her attention to detail and ability to capture the emotion of what she is drawing is an amazing and special skill to have.. Kristen Thompson won a ribbon in the 5-8 category for her charcoal portrait of "Dean Winchester." Kristen shows a lot of skill in this drawing and it is a very impressive for 8th grade art student. All of our art looked really good in the show. The level of skill that my art students display makes very proud to be their teacher.

K-6 talent show auditions are this Tuesday and Wednesday. Only students who have turned in signed permission slips will be allowed to audition. Thanks!

I would like to give a big shout-out to these five students who tried something new over their Spring Break; Quiz Bowl! These five students competed against established teams from Bellefontaine, Ben Logan, and Indian Lake. They may not have been victorious, but I'm proud that they competed in a new experience. I thanked them by treating them to Chipotle afterwards. Go Pirates!
